In week 4 of John Thornhill’s Masterclass we uploaded that Graphics to our blog. It was actually pretty easy following the step by step videos and transcripts. I have finally learned how to use FTP to transfer the files and upload them!!

One thing I think y’all should know is if you are writing to your blog in a Word document….DON’T! Word has some crazy coding (that you can’t even see!) and if you don’t know anything about HTML (like me, although I am learning!) the coding can mess up what your readers are seeing! Found THAT out this past week! DUH!

Notepad on the other hand is just a text document that has no back door coding and won’t mess up your blog. Dang! The internet and websites are just a little picky if you ask me!! Oh well, that makes it more interesting!

I normally use Firefox and my blog was just as cool as ever and a friend of mine went to go see how it looks. He uses IE and the sidebars and widgets were not showing up!! I kept looking for the problem thinking it was something I had done with the graphics, and it wasn’t! I deleted them; re uploaded them, looked and looked for something that I may have done wrong. I was talking to Paula over at the support desk and she pointed me in the right direction! She knew it was coding, I just had to find out WHERE???

How frustrating!

So I started going back through my blog posts to see if something was wrong (like I know anything about THAT!!) and I found a bunch of nonsense in one of my older blog posts.  I deleted that and VIOLA!! It was fixed! So now I know I need to use Notepad and copy and paste to write my blog posts! Here are a few pictures to show you how!!

*Use notepad and don’t copy and paste directly to your blog. In WP there is a little box that you can use to paste to.

Then you can open up another little box that is for pasting. See how you get 2 lines of editing options after you click on the Kitchen Sink button?

Then you need to click onthe “T” button to open up a box that you can paste your Notepad document to .

Select all of your Notepad Document (or just hit Ctrl “A”)

Copy by using Ctrl “C”  and when you open up the little Notepad box, hit Ctrl “V” to paste.

And there ya go!! You have pasted to your blog without all the crazy codes that can make your blog display(or not display) funny!!

When you have inserted your blog post into the “Edit Post” part of your WP blog, you can still edit and upload pics and make your blog fabulous!!

Easy, huh?

Hope yall are having an amazing day!! I know I am! =)

P.S. I have over here to the right a BLOG SET UP Guide that my very good friend Dean Holland wrote for us when we were in his Starting With Marketing class. It has very good videos about setting up your blog. You should check it out!!
